RHITMOS
Rhythm isn’t just essential in music or movement; it’s woven into the very fabric of our daily lives - in our breath, our speech, our habits, even our thoughts. When that rhythm falls out of sync, we feel adrift. When it returns, so does our inner stability. It is well-recognised in psychology that repetition and structure foster a sense of security, and experiencing rhythm through the body can help settle even the most turbulent emotions.
The essence of RHITMOS lies in repetition as an internal anchor - an emotional, psychological, and physical foundation; a structure that allows us to breathe. In creating this collection, I feel a profound connection to my own internal rhythm, echoing those moments when I seek stillness and order within my thoughts and feelings. I’ve shaped the visual rhythm through the aesthetics of archaic ritual objects, using recurring forms, textures, and tones. This collection is, in essence, a silent mantra.
RHITMOS is born from pushing the boundaries of clay and glaze. It is my experimental sanctuary, where technical constraints are no longer rigid rules, but mere signposts for creative freedom.
Each piece is hand-built as I search for organic forms that capture the pulse of movement and the memory of the body. By firing at temperatures far beyond the norm, I allow the glazes to take on a scorched, weathered character, while the clay itself transforms to reveal its raw, authentic nature.
These shifts bring an element of the unexpected. Every piece becomes a unique, rhythmic dialogue between the material, the fire, and my hands.
